We are a design/build firm that has been serving Columbus Ohio and the surrounding suburbs since 1997. We design and install custom gardens for both commercial and residential clients. Our focus leans toward the construction side of the landscape industry, sometimes referred to as hardscapes. This includes landscape elements such as paver patios, retaining walls and other garden structures. You can see our work on 100 year old buildings in central Columbus as well as brand new residences in the outer reaches of Columbus' suburbs. In addition to having the proper licensing and insurance required to work in all of the Columbus area municipalities. Henthorne Landscape is a member of several national trade organizations and is proud to keep a consistent A rating with the Central Ohio chapters of both the Better Business Bureau and Angie's List. And just as important, we work hard to keep solid relationships with local construction industry venders to insure that our clients receive the materials and workmanship they deserve. Please do your due diligence by following the links in the sidebar to the left. Quality product that lasts long past any warrantee is the standard that we hold ourselves to. Time is taken to listen to the client during the design phase to determine both costs and aesthetics to insure that craftsmanship is not sacrificed during the construction phase.
Christopher Henthorne - As the owner of this company I am personally invested in all aspects of every project from start to finish. Being a "landscaper" today means being a landscape designer as well as a contractor. I draw up each design, hand pick the materials, and personally oversee each installation. This ensures that every job meets both my design and construction standards. I worked a few years in the landscape industry in the mid 90's working for a couple local firms before opening my own landscape construction business in 1997. In 2001 I finished an associate degree from Columbus State in their landscape design/build program. Working as an independent contractor while attending classes in the evenings meant I was often late for class but gave me the opportunity to test out classroom theories real time. This degree has proven very valuable, however I enjoy keeping up on industry trends. For more information about my personal approach to designing and building gardens visit the landscape information page.
Employment opportunities - Please feel free to send your resume and contact information if you are looking for a job in the landscape industry. Construction experience is always preferred but not required.
